I’m Doctor Loulittle and I’m an animal addict.
When I was younger, I was always bringing home injured birds and hedgehogs, hiding feral cats in my wardrobe, rocking up to the front door on ponies, looking after imaginary dogs… I was told, “You can have whatever animals you want once you move out.” So I took it seriously and in the last few years have managed to amass a little menagerie of my own.
I dedicate almost all of my spare time to animals, my own and others who aren’t so lucky. I run the Madrid Pet Lovers group on Facebook which helps to find foster homes and adoptions for animals in need. It’s an outlet for English speakers in Madrid to seek advice, meet like-minded people and find volunteering opportunities. As well as our permanent furry fixtures, I foster other animals until they find their fur-ever homes, and volunteer at a shelter too.
This blog is intended to be a resource for anyone interested in fostering or adopting, or looking for advice on caring for animals. If you have any topics you’d like covered, just get in touch and I’ll see what I can do.
